Peer to Peer for Transportation
Basic idea is that an object of transportation (planes, trains, automobiles) can be both suppliers and consumers of data. Why not learn from your surroundings? If the car on the other side of the median knows that there is a wreck 5 miles up the road would you like to know? If there is a flock of geese that a jet flew threw 10 miles away would you as a pilot like to be aware.
Example:
For cars I think that you could put a sensor/processor to gather and process the data and then RFID tag/reader to transmit and receive from other cars. This whole contraption could be embedded in the license plate. Any car within proximity to your own would be able to send/receive packets of data predetermined by the system. Data like
road conditions, potholes, ice, wrecks, emergency vehicles, cars with flat tires, etc.
